The Atlanta Chapter serves the Metro Atlanta area, and welcomes members from locations throughout the Southeast. Meetings are typically held once each quarter at pre-announced locations.
Our meetings are designed to encourage education and collaboration with the network of attendees.

The Accidental President Part Two - July 15, 2019
To the Members and Guests of the Atlanta Chapter of ACP:
If you have been around for a while than you probably remember me and you saw “The Accidental President” message in 2011. Well, here I am again…
I have been away from the Atlanta Chapter for a while now, but it has not been by choice. For over a year now I have been trying to find out what happen to my Chapter. I was no longer receiving emails, announcements, or web notifications. I contacted National to find out what was going on with the Atlanta Chapter and discovered that due to unforeseen circumstances the Board had dismantled and the meetings had discontinued.
A member of the National Board reached out to me and asked if I would consider taking on the role of President (again), my first response was no thank you. I have served on the Atlanta Chapter Board in every position. I had done everything there was to do and now was my time to sit and enjoy. But as we all know, life just doesn’t work that way. So the conversations continued on how to get the Chapter back up and running. And along the way I somehow agreed to resume the role of President again and take on the challenge of revitalizing the Atlanta Chapter with the help of a solid Board of Directors.
I am very happy to introduce to you the 2019-2021 Board of Directors; President – Dawn W Johnson, MBCP; Secretary - Theresa Crawford; Treasurer – Robin M. Loparo, CBCP, CRMP; and Membership Director – Gwendolyn Bain, CBCP. This Board is hard at work building a new and improved Atlanta Chapter of ACP. I have been a member of ACP since 2007. I have enjoyed every aspect on my membership and I am so excited about the direction we are headed in the future.
Our goal is to have our first meeting in September, look for further information on this meeting, here on the website and in your email.
My next goal is to secure a Program Director. I am looking for someone who is on fire with ideas for speakers and events. Until that volunteer steps forward; if you have any suggestions for speakers, topics or locations or you would like to sponsor a meeting, please reach out to me. I would love to hear from you.
We are also in need of an Information Director, someone to create a more robust website for the chapter, is that you? We want to make this a site you visit on a regular basis, but in order to do that we need to know what you want to see on the site. So we need articles that our chapter members have written, fun facts, links you would be interested in, pictures you would like to share. You tell us what YOUR chapter website should look like and we will do our best to make it happen.
Lastly, we need to grow the Atlanta Chapter back to its thriving membership like it was before. With the new and exciting programs coming up, this will be the perfect opportunity for you to invite colleagues, co-workers and associates that work in the field of Business Continuity, Crisis Management, Disaster Recovery and/or any related field to a meeting. We plan to continue moving the meeting to various locations to give everyone an opportunity to attend a meeting closer to them.
