This chapter’s membership includes representatives from a variety of businesses, large and small, in central and western NY as well as parts of Pennsylvania. It is open to any professional in upstate New York who is engaged in business continuity, disaster recovery, or emergency managment.
The 2018 Chapter Board
President – Jay Williams
Jay is a Vice President at M&T Bank
He is an Army veteran with a largely technical background. He earned his CBCP in 2011 and brings 11 years of business continuity management experience to the chapter. Jay has benefited greatly as an EGLACP member since 2007 and is grateful for the opportunity to give back and serve in this position. He is currently completing a business degree at SUNY ESC, while managing the planning team for M&T Bank and patiently enduring the teenage years of his three children. His focus while serving is to maximize the collaborative value provided to ACP members individually, the companies they represent and the communities in which they live.
Vice President - Cory Tylenda
Cory is currently the Business Continuity Manager at ESL Federal Credit Union
Currently the Business Continuity Manager at ESL Federal Credit Union! Prior to joining ESL, he was employed at his alma mater, the University of Rochester, as a Senior Analyst on the Business Continuity, IT Risk Management and Compliance team.
In this role, Cory was responsible for the business continuity management system of the University of Rochester which includes academic, research and healthcare, and EPIC disaster recovery planning.
Prior to joining the University of Rochester, he was employed at Paychex, Inc. as a Business Continuity analyst. His responsibilities included availability management, disaster recovery planning, and serving as the engineer/administrator of Continuity Software’s AvailabilityGuard™
Secretary – Carol Janicki
Carol is currently the Vice President at Bank of America
Carol has worked in the Banking/Finance industry her entire career. She is currently a Vice President at Bank of America and has been with the bank for 23 years holding several positions:
- Mortgage Modification Supervisor
- Charged off Recovery Loans Supervisor
- Credit Card Team Leader
- Associate Experience Manager
- Event Planner/Business Support
- Business Continuity
In her current role she is responsible for Business Continuity Planning and Testing for the Financial Center Channel across the United States.
She received her Certified Business Continuity Professional certification from Disaster Recovery International and is an active member of her local Eastern Great Lakes Chapter Association of Continuity Professionals.
Through the Volunteer Program and Bank of America, Carol has had the opportunity to participate in the following organizations:

Carol Janicki was born in Coudersport, Pennsylvania and has lived in Buffalo, New York since 1972. Carol has been married to Thaddeus Janicki since 1980 and has two grown Children, Ted & Kevin Janicki. Carol is very dedicated to her family, job, and community.
Treasurer – Sue Miller
Sue Miller is a Certified Business Continuity Professional
10+ years of experience in the field. Her focus is on all aspects of business continuity including line of business planning, emergency response planning, incident response and exercising. She has 25 years banking experience with M&T Bank, First Niagara and currently KeyBank. Sue is the past Public Relations Director of the Eastern Great Lakes ACP chapter.
Director of Programs – Peter Capelli
Peter is CIO at Aleron Shared Resources (formerly Superior Group)
Mr. Capelli has been in the IT industry for 27 years, working for companies as diverse as IBM, Catholic Health System, and founding his own network security firm. Mr. Capelli has been responsible for business continuity and disaster recovery in some way, shape, or form since 1995, when he created the plan for the Erie County Medical Center. Since then he has worked with many firms, large and small, in many verticals on their compliance, security, risk, and availability.. Most recently, as CIO at Aleron Shared Resources (formerly Superior Group) Mr. Capelli is responsible for all aspects of IT and security, including availability services. Mr. Capelli received his CISSP certification in 2004, and has held local leadership positions with the IEEE, ISSA, ACM, the EdTech Foundation, and other organizations. He received his BS in Computer Science from SUNY Buffalo in 1992, and his MBA in finance from the Simon School at the University of Rochester in 2012.
Public Relations – Carolyn Skaros
Carolyn V. Skaros, a Senior Contingency Analyst within the Disaster Recovery and Business Continuity Department at M&T Bank
Currently she coordinates and consults as a subject matter expert on business resiliency planning. Additionally, she supports the Corporate Emergency Response Process and assists with Corporate Operational Risk efforts. Carolyn has been a member of EGLACP since 2016 and has found it to be greatly beneficial in her new role in Business Continuity. Carolyn graduated from Niagara University with a dual Bachelor of Science Degrees in Psychology and Criminal Justice in 2008. She then pursued and achieved a Master’s Degree in Criminal Justice Administration at Niagara University in 2009.
Director of Information – Jay Reece
Jay currently works at Paychex as a Business Continuity & Disaster Recovery Specialist
Jay is a lifelong resident of Rochester, NY. He currently works for Paychex as a Business Continuity Analyst. He started with Paychex 6 years ago as a Systems Engineer on the Storage & Virtualization team. About 1 year ago he made the switch from IT Operations to Business Continuity & Disaster recovery. At Paychex his responsibilities focus primarily on Disaster Recovery and include the development, implementation, exercising and maintenance of the business continuity and disaster recovery plans.
Membership Director – Mike Wagner
Mike is a Disaster Recovery Specialist for M&T Bank
Since 2016, he has been working with technology owners in the bank to ensure compliance with bank standards and policies. In this role, Mike is responsible for many of the administrative processes that are the foundation for maintaining disaster recovery plans in the banks planning tool. Along with his administrative responsibilities he is also a plan liaison, assisting builders and owners with yearly maintenance and testing on their plans, and how to use Assurance CM.
Mike is a member of the Association of Continuity Professionals and the Eastern Great Lakes Chapter of the Association of Continuity Professionals, as well as a voting member of the Local Emergency Planning Committee (LEPC) – Erie County. He volunteers with Buffalo Stand Down, assisting Veterans in the city of Buffalo. Mike resides in Orchard Park, New York with his honey bees, all 200,000 of them.
