Topic: National Weather Service Jacksonville Forecast Office Tour

Location: National Weather Service’s Jacksonville Weather Forecast Office at 13701 Fang Drive

TThe Northeast Florida Chapter of the Association of Continuity Professionals (ACP) has scheduled a special opportunity for our April 2022 meeting.  We will be meeting at the National Weather Service’s Jacksonville Weather Forecast Office at 13701 Fang Drive.  This meeting will provide a great chance to update our knowledge of how forecasting happens, including the generation of weather warnings, with special emphasis on hurricane forecasting (June isn’t too far away).  In addition to a presentation by the Senior Forecaster in charge of the Jacksonville Office, we will also have a chance to tour the center for an up-close look at this vitally important office.  We sincerely hope that you can join us for this unusual opportunity.  We will meet at the NWS Office on Fang Drive promptly at 2:30pm, or a few minutes earlier, on Wednesday, 20 April 2022.   Just a reminder to make sure you’ve renewed your membership for 2022 and remember that any member can bring a prospective member as a guest for any meeting.  Please contact any member of your board if you have any questions about this meeting.  You can always reach John Jordan, the Chapter President on his cell phone at (904) 993-2690.
